# Deep Trip

Instruments for altered states.

> Deep Trip is an independent maker of audio plugins for Apple Silicon Macs — instruments that do something no other plugin does, rather than one more compressor, equalizer or synth clone. Its first instrument, Apophene, turns any video or audio file into a playable drum kit and a genre-true track. Not released yet — deept.rip collects email addresses and mails the link the day the first build ships. Free until 31 October 2026, then $4.20. VST3, Audio Unit and standalone. Apple Silicon Macs only — no Intel Mac, Windows or Linux build. Fully offline.

Deep Trip builds instruments, not utilities: no mixing tools, no channel strips, no emulations of classic hardware. The common thread is starting from material nobody planned to be musical and turning it into something playable. Everything runs locally, with no account, no cloud service and no licence manager. deept.rip is its site and more instruments will live there. Apophene is the first one. It is free until 31 October 2026 as a launch promotion and $4.20 from 1 November; a copy downloaded while it is free keeps working. There is no licence key, no account and no trial timer. The first public build has not shipped yet; deept.rip collects email addresses and mails the download link the day it does. The studio behind Deep Trip is Pattern Void.
